EllioTrades Warns XRP Could Lose Top 10 Spot Without Tokenization Growth
He cited more than $50 billion in tokenized real-world assets across blockchain networks and argued that active use matters more than reported totals.

Crypto YouTuber EllioTrades warned that XRP could lose its place among the 10 largest cryptocurrencies by 2030 unless the XRP Ledger attracts more actively used tokenized assets, developers and major financial institutions.
EllioTrades tied the risk to competition in tokenized bonds, stocks and other financial assets. He cited more than $50 billion in tokenized real-world assets across blockchain networks and said Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana were gaining ground while the XRP Ledger lagged. He also questioned whether some assets counted in the ledger’s tokenization figures are traded actively.
Tokenization represents an asset, such as a government bond, stock or commodity, on a blockchain. EllioTrades argued that the total value of assets listed on a network does not show how much people use them. For the XRP Ledger, he said buying, selling and other activity matter more than reported values alone.
His argument also separates Ripple’s payment technology from demand for XRP. EllioTrades said stablecoins such as Tether (USDT) and USDC have challenged XRP’s role in international payments because their values are designed to remain steady. He argued that some institutions can use Ripple’s payment technology without making transactions on the XRP Ledger, so Ripple’s partnerships do not automatically create demand for XRP.
EllioTrades outlined three areas he believes the XRP Ledger needs to develop: tokenized assets with active markets, stronger support for developers building applications, and participation from major financial institutions. He named BlackRock and Franklin Templeton as examples of potential institutional partners. In his view, a partnership would matter for XRP only if the resulting activity brought more businesses and investment to the network and created value for the token.
His warning is conditional: EllioTrades did not say XRP would definitely lose its ranking. He argued that its standing through 2030 depends on whether the XRP Ledger can turn tokenization and partnerships into real network use and stronger demand for XRP.
