Nvidia Falls 3.93% as Bank of America Sees $1 Trillion in Cloud Spending
The bank also sees a further 37% increase in cloud infrastructure spending as possible in 2027, with rising AI token use and open-weight models adding to computing demand.

Nvidia shares fell 3.93% Thursday, while Bank of America named the chipmaker among six semiconductor companies it sees benefiting from AI infrastructure spending that could approach $1 trillion in 2026.
Marvell Technology declined 8.29%, Intel fell 6.44%, Micron lost 4.78% and Synopsys dropped 3.99%. Lam Research was also among the six companies on the bank’s list.
Bank of America expects cloud infrastructure spending to nearly double from about $510 billion in 2025 to roughly $1 trillion in 2026. A further 37% rise in 2027 is possible.
The bank points to increasing token use as evidence that AI workloads are growing. It also sees wider use of open-weight AI models as another source of computing demand. Developers can access these models’ parameters, but running them still requires substantial processing power.
