Kraken’s Hedera (HBAR) Purchase Fees Vary by Order Type
On a $100 trade, Tier 1 spot fees equal 40 cents for a maker order and 80 cents for a taker order, before other costs.

The number of Hedera (HBAR) tokens a buyer receives on Kraken depends on the execution price and the fee applied to the order. Tier 1 standard spot orders carry a 0.40% maker fee or a 0.80% taker fee. Kraken lists a 1% fee for instant and recurring trades and a 1.5% fee for custom orders; eligible Kraken+ app or web instant trades within $10,000 of monthly volume qualify for a fee waiver.
On a $100 executed trade, those rates equal 40 cents for a maker order, 80 cents for a taker order, $1 for an instant or recurring trade, and $1.50 for a custom order, before other costs. Standard spot fees also vary with trading volume, currency pair and whether an order makes or takes liquidity.
Trading fees and Hedera network fees are separate charges. The exchange fee applies to the trade; a network fee applies when a transaction is submitted to Hedera.
Hedera prices network fees in U.S. dollars and converts them into HBAR when a transaction occurs. The HBAR amount can vary with the token’s market price, even when the fee’s dollar value is unchanged.
