Ethereum Price Eyes 200-Day EMA Break While XRP Sparks Fresh Momentum

Ethereum (ETH) is approaching a decisive junction as it tests the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) near $2,500. After dipping below the 50- and 100-day EMAs, the second-largest cryptocurrency clawed back modest gains, yet trading volume remains muted and the June ascending-triangle setup has already failed—both signs of fragile bullish conviction. With the relative strength index (RSI) drifting in neutral territory, a clean rejection at the 200-day barrier could trigger a slide toward the psychologically critical $2,000 zone, erasing much of the April–May rally and confirming bearish market structure. Conversely, a decisive daily close above the 200-day EMA, backed by strong follow-through volume, could reignite optimism and open a path toward $2,600–$2,800.

Ripple’s XRP, meanwhile, logged a technical breakthrough by vaulting its 26-day EMA and now trades above the 26-, 50- and 100-day averages. This upside move follows weeks of range-bound churn and signals growing buyer interest, with the RSI crossing the 50 line without flashing overbought conditions. Volume expansion strengthens the bullish case as the token targets the looming 200-day EMA resistance. Should buyers defend the recent breakout, XRP could revisit the $2.28–$2.32 band that capped earlier attempts. Failure to hold above the 26-day EMA, however, would leave the door open for a pullback toward $2.00.

While Bitcoin’s dominance and macro headlines continue to sway sentiment, near-term focus is squarely on Ethereum’s showdown with its long-term trend line and XRP’s ability to sustain fresh momentum. Traders are bracing for high volatility as each asset confronts make-or-break technical levels that could define the broader crypto market’s summer trajectory.
