Bitcoin Whales Accumulate Again, Hinting at Renewed Market Confidence

Bitcoin’s biggest holders are back in accumulation mode, signaling renewed optimism despite a sharp correction that wiped out over 20% from recent highs. At the time of writing, Bitcoin trades slightly above $101,000 after briefly dipping below $100,000 earlier this week.

Data from CryptoQuant reveals that wallets holding between 1,000 and 10,000 BTC have collectively added around 29,600 Bitcoin in the past seven days. Analyst JA Maartun noted that these whale wallets now hold approximately 3.504 million BTC, up from 3.436 million—a clear indication that major players are buying the dip rather than fleeing the market.

This renewed whale activity contrasts with fearful retail sentiment, shaken by over $1 billion in liquidations and $2 billion in outflows from U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs last week. Historically, such divergence between institutional accumulation and retail caution often signals the end of a correction phase rather than the start of a deeper downtrend. By absorbing roughly four times the weekly mining supply, these large investors are tightening available liquidity and reinforcing Bitcoin’s key $100,000 support level.

Macro conditions remain challenging. The Federal Reserve’s cautious approach to rate cuts has pressured risk assets, but it has also created opportunities for strategic accumulation amid a liquidity vacuum. Bitcoin’s technical outlook shows consolidation between $100,000 and $107,000, with the Fear & Greed Index deep in “Extreme Fear.”

Historically, accumulation during periods of fear has preceded strong rebounds. If whales maintain this momentum, Bitcoin could target a medium-term recovery toward the $115,000–$120,000 range. The message is clear: while short-term traders panic, long-term holders are quietly positioning for the next leg up—showing unwavering confidence in Bitcoin’s enduring uptrend.
