NEAR Protocol is showing stronger technical momentum than XRP as it attempts to reclaim and hold above the key $2.00 resistance level. While XRP remains trapped in a broader bearish trend and continues to struggle below major resistance, NEAR is displaying signs of a potential recovery that could attract renewed investor interest.
After spending several weeks consolidating between $1.80 and $2.00, NEAR has finally pushed above the psychologically important $2 mark. The breakout is particularly notable because the cryptocurrency is now trading above its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day moving averages simultaneously. This technical setup is often viewed by traders as a bullish signal, especially during the early stages of a recovery.
The daily chart shows that NEAR successfully rebounded from support near $1.80, a level that aligns with its 200-day moving average. Buyers defended this area effectively, allowing the token to establish higher prices and improve its overall market structure. Although trading volume remains below the levels seen during the strong rally in May, maintaining price action above all three major moving averages suggests growing market confidence.
The next major resistance level sits near $2.10, where the 100-day moving average is expected to challenge further gains. A decisive breakout above this level could strengthen bullish sentiment and open the door for a move toward $2.30 and potentially higher price targets.
Momentum indicators are also beginning to favor the bulls. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has climbed above the neutral 50 level, signaling improving buying pressure and increasing momentum. While confirmation through stronger trading volume would further validate the breakout, current technical indicators suggest NEAR is in a stronger position than many large-cap altcoins.
If buyers continue defending support above $2.00 and successfully clear the $2.10 resistance, NEAR Protocol could extend its recovery and emerge as one of the stronger-performing cryptocurrencies in the current market environment.
