NEAR Protocol (NEAR) is showing notable resilience compared to many altcoins, maintaining a stable trading range while preserving its broader bullish structure. Although price action has remained largely sideways in recent weeks, the cryptocurrency continues to hold above key long-term moving averages, signaling that buyers are still defending important support levels.
Unlike Hyperliquid (HYPE), which has entered a correction after a strong rally, NEAR has spent several weeks consolidating above its major trend indicators. The asset is currently trading just above its 100-day exponential moving average (EMA) near $1.87, while the 200-day EMA around $1.82 continues to provide strong structural support. This creates a significant support zone between $1.82 and $1.87, which could determine NEAR’s next major move.
On the upside, bulls continue to face resistance near the 50-day EMA at $2.02. Every recovery attempt over the past month has stalled between $2.00 and $2.10, establishing a key resistance area that must be cleared before a sustained bullish trend can develop. A decisive breakout above this range would place NEAR back above all major short-term moving averages and potentially open the door for a rally toward $2.30 to $2.50.
Momentum indicators also reflect the market's indecision. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) remains close to 45, suggesting neither buyers nor sellers currently have a clear advantage. This neutral reading aligns with the sideways price movement seen throughout July.
Despite the lack of strong momentum, NEAR’s longer-term outlook remains constructive. The cryptocurrency has continued to post higher lows on the broader timeframe after recovering significantly from prices below $1 earlier this year. As long as the token remains above the 200-day EMA, many traders are likely to interpret the current consolidation as an accumulation phase rather than the beginning of a new downtrend.
However, a breakdown below $1.82 would weaken the bullish outlook and invalidate much of the recovery structure that has developed over recent months, making this support level the most critical area for investors to monitor.
