Ethereum (ETH) remains on a steady recovery path despite a minor pullback, with the second-largest cryptocurrency trading just below the $1,900 mark as investors watch for another attempt to break above the key $2,000 resistance level. The recent price action suggests buyers continue to control the trend, even as ETH struggles to overcome a significant technical barrier.
Since rebounding from its June capitulation lows, Ethereum has consistently formed higher lows, reinforcing the bullish structure that has developed over recent weeks. While ETH briefly moved above the 100-day exponential moving average (EMA) near $1,930, it failed to maintain the breakout, indicating that sellers are still defending this resistance zone.
Even so, Ethereum continues to trade comfortably above its rising 20-day EMA at around $1,845. The limited pullback following the rejection is viewed as a positive sign, as it suggests buyers are absorbing selling pressure rather than exiting positions. This type of consolidation below resistance often precedes another breakout attempt if bullish momentum remains intact.
A decisive close above the 100-day EMA could pave the way for a move toward the psychological $2,000 level. Beyond that, the 200-day EMA near $2,175 remains the next major resistance and a critical level that could signal a stronger long-term trend reversal if reclaimed.
Technical indicators also support the constructive outlook. Ethereum's Relative Strength Index (RSI) is hovering around 53, remaining above neutral territory while still well below overbought conditions. This indicates there is room for additional upside before momentum becomes overheated. Trading volume has moderated since the sharp recovery from June, but it continues to support the pattern of higher lows.
On the downside, the 20-day EMA at approximately $1,845 serves as the key support level. Holding above this zone keeps the current recovery structure intact. However, a break below it could send ETH toward the 50-day EMA near $1,757, where buyers would face a more significant test. For now, Ethereum's ability to remain above support keeps the focus firmly on a potential breakout toward $2,000.
