Zcash (ZEC) remains technically bullish despite another rejection above the $500 level. Trading near $488, ZEC is consolidating between key short-term moving averages while preserving the broader recovery structure established after its March lows.
The immediate battle for the Zcash price is concentrated between $483 and $500. ZEC remains above its 50-day moving average near $483 and the 100-day moving average around $469. However, a shorter-term moving average close to $495 continues to act as resistance, reinforcing the psychological importance of the $500 level.
A decisive ZEC breakout above $500 could significantly improve short-term momentum. If buyers establish sustained acceptance above this barrier, the cryptocurrency could target the $520-$540 range before challenging the stronger July resistance zone between $560 and $580. Zcash has tested the $500 region several times in recent weeks but has yet to secure a lasting breakout.
On the downside, the $469-$483 range provides an important support cluster formed by the 50-day and 100-day moving averages. As long as ZEC holds this area, its current consolidation could serve as a foundation for another attempt at $500.
The longer-term Zcash technical outlook also remains constructive. Its rising 200-day moving average is positioned much lower at approximately $422, leaving ZEC comfortably above its long-term trend indicator. This gives Zcash a stronger technical structure than cryptocurrencies trading below their respective 200-day averages.
One concern is declining trading volume following the sharp price moves earlier this year. Without stronger market participation, breaking and holding above $500 may remain difficult.
Overall, the ZEC price remains bullish but range-bound. Holding $469-$483 keeps buyers in control and preserves the possibility of a move toward $500 and beyond. A breakdown below this support zone, however, could expose ZEC to $440, followed by the 200-day moving average near $422.
