Ripple RLUSD Supply on XRP Ledger Tops $1 Billion

Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin has reached a major milestone after its circulating supply on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) surpassed $1 billion for the first time, highlighting growing liquidity and activity across the network.

According to data from the Ripple Stablecoin Tracker, RLUSD circulating supply on the XRP Ledger has climbed to approximately $1.024 billion. The milestone comes as Ripple continues expanding RLUSD liquidity across the blockchain networks that support the dollar-backed stablecoin.

Recent minting activity has played a significant role in the increase. On August 27, approximately $26.2 million worth of RLUSD was minted on the XRP Ledger, while $6.9 million was burned. Activity accelerated on August 28, with another $36.9 million minted and $7.5 million burned.

The Ripple Stablecoin Tracker also highlighted three individual XRPL minting transactions involving 19.9 million RLUSD, 10 million RLUSD and another 10 million RLUSD.

Ethereum, another major network supporting RLUSD, has also experienced substantial activity. About $53.3 million in RLUSD was minted on Ethereum on August 28, while $5 million was burned. Across supported networks, RLUSD’s total circulating supply currently stands at approximately $2.27 billion. Ethereum accounts for roughly $1.24 billion of that amount.

The RLUSD milestone arrives amid broader growth for the XRP Ledger. This week, XRPL surpassed five billion settled transactions during its 14-year history, reinforcing its position as an established blockchain network for digital asset payments and financial applications.

Ripple has also launched an AI-only security review of Lending Protocol V1.1 for the XRP Ledger using the Sherlock Audit Engine. Meanwhile, XRP treasury company Evernorth reached another regulatory milestone after the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission declared its registration statement effective. Evernorth reportedly holds an initial reserve of 473 million XRP, potentially providing additional liquidity for XRP Ledger decentralized finance.

Separately, Mastercard has joined as a sponsor of an XRP Ledger Hackathon being co-hosted by the XRP Ledger Foundation ahead of Ripple’s Swell event, adding further momentum to the XRPL ecosystem.
