XRP Ledger Amendment Activity Surges After New Scorecard Launch

XRP Ledger (XRPL) development activity has accelerated following the launch of a new amendment scorecard designed to track how thoroughly upcoming protocol features are tested before reaching mainnet.

XRPL Foundation CTO Denis Angell revealed the live scorecard on September 3, explaining that every new XRP Ledger feature is introduced through an amendment that validators must approve. Because activated amendments become permanent parts of the protocol, Angell stressed the importance of demonstrating that each feature has undergone comprehensive end-to-end testing on devnet.

The dashboard automatically reads the complete specification of each amendment directly from XRPL nodes, covering transaction types, optional fields, flags, result codes, ledger entries and feature lifecycles. It then monitors devnet activity to determine whether validated transactions have exercised individual components.

Successfully tested components appear as green cells linked to the first validated transaction that used them, while red cells identify areas requiring additional testing.

Initially, the system was correctly scoring 16 amendments on devnet. Within 48 hours of the scorecard going live, testing activity increased sharply, with 278 amendment components exercised for the first time.

Two amendments jumped from single-digit coverage to 100%, while the Sponsor amendment activated 77 previously untested cells. Overall XRPL devnet coverage reached 91%, with eight of the 16 tracked amendments achieving complete coverage.

The development comes during a busy period for the XRP Ledger ecosystem. XRPL recently launched a revamped website aimed at making resources easier to navigate for developers, institutions, community members and newcomers. The platform highlights XRP Ledger applications across payments, tokenization and trading.

Meanwhile, De Vinci Blockchain will host an XRPL Builder Task Force hackathon in Paris from September 11 to 13. The event will focus on the Lending Protocol (XLS-66) and Single Asset Vault (XLS-65).

Limited to approximately 40–50 builders, participants will develop prototypes and provide structured feedback on XRPL tools and documentation. The hackathon will offer $10,000 in rewards as developers continue working on new capabilities across the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
