Cardano (ADA) saw a dramatic liquidation imbalance as persistent selling pressure forced leveraged bullish traders out of their positions. The cryptocurrency fell 1.64% over the past 24 hours to around $0.20, catching traders expecting an ADA price recovery off guard.

CoinGlass data showed approximately $2.06 million in Cardano positions were liquidated during the 24-hour period. Long positions accounted for roughly $1.89 million of the total, compared with just $174,080 in short liquidations. The difference produced a long-to-short liquidation imbalance of about 1,085%.

ADA's decline came amid broader pressure across financial markets as investors weighed renewed inflation concerns and growing expectations that the Federal Reserve could raise interest rates. Cardano declined for four consecutive days between September 7 and September 10, eventually touching $0.20 early Friday before staging a modest rebound.

The latest U.S. inflation figures offered little relief. The Consumer Price Index increased 0.4% in August 2026, matching economists' forecasts and accelerating from July's 0.1% rise. Wholesale inflation also increased 0.4% last month, in line with expectations. The reports are among the final major inflation signals available to the Federal Reserve ahead of its policy meeting next week.

Despite weakness in the ADA price, development across the Cardano ecosystem continues. Preparations for the Dijkstra upgrade are progressing, with Node 11.2 integration underway to establish the foundation for early testing.

Cardano-node 11.1.1, designated as a Dijkstra pre-release, is approaching mainnet readiness. Node 11.2 is expected within the coming weeks and will introduce the Dijkstra feature set, including a new block format, while enabling testing and downstream tooling integration through the planned DijkstraNet public testnet.

Elsewhere in the ecosystem, Hydra 2.4.1 was released this week, the DevX Cardano-init open beta launched, the first stable Plu-ts release arrived, and development of the Leios prototype recorded further progress.
