Nasdaq Slides More Than 1% as AI and Crypto Stocks Decline

The Dow fell more than 0.2% and the S&P 500 dropped more than 0.5% during Sept. 23 trading.

The Nasdaq fell more than 1% during Sept. 23 trading as U.S. stocks extended their declines and AI, storage and crypto-related shares moved lower.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down more than 0.2%, while the S&P 500 declined more than 0.5%.

Applied Optoelectronics fell 3.47% to $103.29 and Coherent dropped 2.11% to $303.85. Marvell Technology declined 1.58% to $258.22, while Lumentum rose 0.17% to $947.24.

Storage stocks also weakened. SanDisk fell 2.80% to $1,834.135, Micron Technology dropped 1.75% to $1,077, Seagate Technology declined 1.09% to $909.84 and Western Digital fell 0.70% to $461.355.

Crypto-related stocks tracked the broader decline. Bitmine Immersion dropped 3.68% to $27.702, Gemini Space Station fell 3.45% to $5.745, Circle declined 2.22% to $92.49 and Strategy fell 1.92% to $164.125. Bullish dropped 1.38%, while SharpLink declined 2.59%.
