Crypto Traders See $425 Million in Long Positions Liquidated
About $425 million in leveraged long positions were closed over 24 hours as Bitcoin and Ether traded lower during a broad market correction.

About $425 million in leveraged long positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours as a broad crypto market correction pushed prices lower and forced traders out of bullish bets.
Bitcoin (BTC) traded around $85,600 to $85,700 during the period, while Ether (ETH) changed hands between $2,711 and $2,725. The two assets were among the major cryptocurrencies affected by the market decline.
Long positions use borrowed funds to bet that an asset’s price will rise. When prices fall far enough, trading platforms can automatically close those positions to cover losses, producing liquidations across the market.
The scale of the forced closures points to heightened volatility and a reassessment of risk among crypto traders. Market participants are now watching for further price adjustments and additional volatility following the liquidation wave.
