Ether (ETH) fell 2.11% in four hours to $2,662 as of 1:41 p.m. ET (17:41 UTC) on Sept. 23, extending a sharp move lower in the market’s second-largest crypto asset by market capitalization.
The price declined from $2,720 to $2,662 over the four-hour period. The figures were calculated from TokenPost’s direct collection of publicly available Binance spot ETH/USDT prices.
Liquidations during the same hour totaled $570,000 for long positions and $380,000 for short positions across Binance, Bybit and OKX. Long liquidations occur when leveraged bets on higher prices are forcibly closed, while short liquidations affect bets on declines.
Ether’s market capitalization stood at about $324.62988 billion.
