RWA Perpetual Futures Reach $117.3 Billion in August Trading
Volume reached 44 times its year-earlier level, while on-chain venues handled 86% of activity tied to stocks, commodities and indexes.

Perpetual futures tied to real-world assets recorded $117.3 billion in August volume, showing how quickly on-chain markets for stocks, commodities and indexes have expanded across crypto trading venues.
The monthly total reached 44 times its year-earlier level. Open interest stood at $4.8 billion.
On-chain venues handled about $101 billion, or 86% of total activity. Centralized exchanges accounted for roughly $16 billion.
Stocks made up 48% of August volume. Commodities represented 28%, while indexes accounted for 18%.
Hyperliquid launched HIP-3 in October 2025, enabling developers to deploy their own perpetual-futures markets on HyperCore. The launch helped drive further migration of real-world-asset perpetual trading on-chain.
The growth extends a broader expansion in real-world-asset perpetual futures, which link derivatives markets to traditional assets such as equities, commodities and indexes.
