Israeli Source Warns Renewed Iran Strikes Could Widen Conflict
The source alleged that Iran is fortifying an underground site near Natanz, while satellite imagery showed new defenses but no confirmed transfer of nuclear equipment.
An Israeli source warned Thursday that renewed strikes could widen the conflict and unsettle global markets.
The source alleged that Iran is moving and fortifying parts of its nuclear program at Pickaxe Mountain, an underground site near the Natanz nuclear complex. The source also said Israel could strike the facilities again if Iran crosses unspecified red lines, with or without U.S. support.
“Another round of attacks against Iran is a matter of time,” the Israeli source said. The warning did not provide a date, target list or operational details.
Satellite imagery dated Aug. 21 and Sept. 11 showed roadblocks and additional earth covering at Pickaxe Mountain. The imagery indicates that the defenses may complicate ground access but does not establish that Iran moved centrifuges, enriched uranium or other nuclear equipment there.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had no access in 2025 to Iran’s safeguarded nuclear facilities except Bushehr and continued monitoring through satellite imagery and open sources. A new Israeli operation could further complicate U.S.-Iran diplomacy and put pressure on energy markets and other risk-sensitive assets.
