Litecoin Climbs Above $71 as 24-Hour Gain Reaches 12.3%
The move came as a proposed Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF remains pending a registration effective date and completed listing.
Litecoin (LTC) rose above $71 on Sept. 24 as its 24-hour gain reached 12.3%, marking a sharp move for the cryptocurrency and bringing renewed attention to a pending U.S. exchange-traded fund plan.
Grayscale plans to rename the Grayscale Litecoin Trust as the Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF once its registration statement becomes effective and the listing is completed. The proposed shares are expected to trade under the ticker LTCN on NYSE Arca, a U.S. exchange operated by the New York Stock Exchange. The product has not officially listed.
The price move places LTC above the $71 threshold but below the $93 level reached in May 2025. Litecoin also briefly traded at $123 and $140 in January 2025, while a comparable 12% or larger daily gain occurred in each of 2023, 2024 and 2025.
The proposed ETF listing remains the next concrete milestone for the product, pending the effectiveness of its registration statement and completion of the listing process.
