Litecoin added 18% without an announcement linked to its rise. Bitcoin and Ether (ETH) traded lower during the same period, showing that the altcoin gains were not matched by the two largest crypto assets.
Among 60 large-cap tokens, 51 traded above their 00:00 UTC opening levels. The breadth of the move pointed to wider altcoin strength even as the top two assets remained under pressure.
