U.S. Bitcoin ETFs Draw $2.49 Billion in Six Trading Sessions
Bitcoin (BTC) holders are taking profits during the rally, but realized-profit levels remain below those associated with previous market tops.

Bitcoin holders are taking profits during the latest rally while U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded approximately $2.49 billion in combined net inflows across six trading sessions from Sept. 17 through Sept. 24.
The ETF inflows totaled $159.5 million on Sept. 17, $433 million on Sept. 18, $999 million on Sept. 21, $364.4 million on Sept. 22, $346.9 million on Sept. 23 and $190.7 million on Sept. 24.
The figures show continued demand through U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs as existing holders realize gains. The available data suggests increased selling pressure during the rally but does not identify whether the selling came from retail investors, institutions or a specific holder group.
Bitcoin traded at $87,392 on Sept. 21 and held between $85,000 and $86,500 as of Sept. 23.
Realized profit tracks gains when coins move on-chain at prices above their previous transfer prices. If Bitcoin last moved at $40,000 and later transfers at $84,000, the difference is counted as realized profit.
Long-term holders’ realized profit was about 72%, compared with nearly 350% in December 2024. The gap indicates that the latest profit-taking phase remains moderate relative to the level recorded during that earlier peak.
Bitcoin (BTC) holders previously recorded about $5.1 billion in net realized profits over seven days, a level that also remained below amounts associated with historical market tops. Earlier coverage of seven-day realized-profit levels examined the relatively limited scale of profit realization.
The latest ETF data covers trading sessions through Sept. 24.
