Bitcoin Falls Below $83,000 as Iran Strike Uncertainty Hits Markets
Bitcoin extended losses alongside U.S. stock futures after President Donald Trump left open the possibility of further strikes on Iran.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $83,000 on Monday as uncertainty over potential U.S. strikes on Iran weighed on crypto and stock-market futures, weakening momentum toward the year’s opening price.
BTC/USD dropped below $82,700 for the first time since Sept. 21 after closing the week near $84,450. The decline followed a failed attempt to revisit highs above $87,000 reached last week.
More than $30 million in sell-side liquidity appeared around $85,700, limiting buying momentum as traders watched the order books. About $70 million in long positions were liquidated over the previous 24 hours.
U.S. stock futures also moved lower after U.S. President Donald Trump declined to rule out additional military action against Iran. “I don’t want to say that. I don’t want to say that. I mean, it’s possible, but I just don’t want to say that,” Trump said Sunday.
Bitcoin’s 2026 opening level stands at $88,700, which price failed to reach last week. Market commentator Aksel Kibar said the recent move did not resemble a decisive breakout and pointed to the risk of a return to the $60,000-to-$80,000 range where BTC traded for much of 2026.
