Bitcoin Closes Above 50-Week Average for First Time Since 2025

Bitcoin (BTC) recorded its first weekly close above the 50-week moving average since early November 2025, putting the $82,500 level at the center of the market’s next test.

The level marked the upper boundary of the previous trading range and may be tested repeatedly. A weekly close below $82,500 would weaken the case that the move represents a durable breakout.

Altcoin market breadth has also expanded significantly. The next advance will be watched for a simultaneous recovery in Bitcoin dominance, which measures BTC’s share of the total crypto market.

Market rebounds led by altcoins without confirmation from Bitcoin have often ended in sideways trading or declines. The ability of BTC to hold above the prior range’s upper boundary is therefore the immediate technical focus.
