Binance Records Largest One-Day Net Bitcoin Outflow Since 2023
More than 13,800 Bitcoin left Binance on Sept. 22, worth about $1.15 billion at the time. Its Bitcoin reserves fell by roughly 20,000 BTC over four days.

Binance recorded a net outflow of more than 13,800 Bitcoin (BTC) on Sept. 22, marking the exchange’s largest single-day decline since 2023 and drawing attention to changing exchange balances.
The Bitcoin leaving Binance was worth about $1.15 billion at the time. The exchange’s Bitcoin reserves fell from roughly 705,000 BTC to about 685,000 BTC over four days, a reduction of approximately 20,000 BTC valued at around $1.66 billion.
The outflow may reflect investors moving Bitcoin into self-custody, institutional custody arrangements, internal wallet management or other operational activity. Exchange outflows alone do not establish that investors are accumulating Bitcoin.
Market participants are watching whether Binance’s lower Bitcoin balance persists and whether the broader exchange-reserve trend continues.
