Hyperliquid Trader Boomer Cuts $31 Million in Altcoin Longs
The account realized about $1.25 million in losses before opening short positions in ZEC and NEAR worth nearly $9.7 million.
Hyperliquid trader Boomer cut more than $31.1 million in altcoin long positions on Sept. 29 and shifted to short-term bearish bets, realizing about $1.25 million in losses.
The account exited longs in Zcash (ZEC), NEAR, Uniswap (UNI), HYPE, PUMP, ENA, AERO, ONDO, SKY and PENGU. PUMP was the only position to produce a small profit during the exits.
About five minutes after closing the ZEC long, the trader opened a short position. Boomer later wrote on X that ZEC may have reached a short- to medium-term peak, with a possible decline toward $1,000 followed by several weeks of sideways trading before another advance. Boomer maintained a longer-term target range of $5,000 to $10,000 for ZEC.
The account’s remaining short exposure included about $8.24 million in ZEC, representing 6,000 tokens at an average entry price of $1,421.40, with an unrealized gain of about $291,000. The NEAR short was worth about $1.47 million, based on roughly 322,100 tokens entered at an average price of $4.63, with an unrealized gain of about $24,000.
