Ripple (XRP) rose 2.01% in one hour to $1.54 at 9:18 a.m. ET (13:18 UTC) Wednesday, marking a sharp move for the fifth-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

The token climbed from $1.51 to $1.54 during the hour on Binance’s XRP/USDT spot market. Despite the short-term gain, XRP remained down 0.70% over the previous 24 hours.

Short liquidations totaled $1.26 million across Binance, Bybit and OKX during the same hour, compared with $50,000 in long liquidations. Liquidations occur when exchanges forcibly close leveraged positions after traders fail to meet margin requirements.
