A Bitcoin (BTC) wallet that had been inactive for 15.4 years moved 20.43 BTC, worth about $1.7 million, to Segregated Witness addresses in a transfer that cost less than $1.

The coins came from Braiins payouts worth about $3 to $4. The wallet’s latest activity ended a period of inactivity that began in May 2011.

The BTC has not been sent to a known cryptocurrency exchange deposit address. Earlier transfers from the wallet were linked to Mt. Gox and Silk Road, both commonly used channels in 2011.

The Mt. Gox trustee still holds about 34,500 BTC. Creditors have until Oct. 31, 2026, to submit claims.
