Bitcoin and Ether Breakouts Trigger More Than $26 Million in Short Liquidations

Two cryptocurrency traders had short positions forcibly closed after Bitcoin crossed $85,000 and Ether moved above $2,750.

Two cryptocurrency traders had short positions worth more than $26 million forcibly liquidated after Bitcoin and Ether crossed key price levels on Sept. 21.

An address identified as “0x06bc” had a short position of 5,867 Ether (ETH) liquidated, valued at about $16.13 million. A second address, “0xec0b,” had its 122.88 Bitcoin (BTC) short position, valued at about $10.16 million, fully liquidated.

Bitcoin crossed $85,000, while Ether moved above $2,750. The two liquidated positions totaled more than $26 million in notional value.
