The September U.S. employment report is scheduled for release Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC), offering a measure of labor-market resilience and whether another rate increase may be needed in October.

Payrolls are forecast to grow by 90,000, down from 162,000 in August. The unemployment rate is expected to stay at 4.1% for a third consecutive month.

The report follows the Federal Reserve’s first rate hike in three years in September. Employment and unemployment figures will offer a fresh measure of labor-market conditions ahead of October policy decisions.
