Eurozone Inflation Rises to 3.8%, Highest Since September 2023

September inflation rose from 3.2% in August, above the 3.6% market forecast and the European Central Bank’s 2% target.

Eurozone annual inflation reached 3.8% in September, its highest level since September 2023, exceeding forecasts and the European Central Bank’s 2% target.

The rate increased from 3.2% in August and topped the 3.6% market forecast. The ECB’s inflation target is 2%.

Core inflation was 2.5%, in line with expectations. Germany’s 10-year government bond yield reached 3.575% Thursday during a eurozone bond selloff.
