Bitcoin Falls 1.29% in One Hour to $85,894 as Long Liquidations Rise

Bitcoin (BTC) fell 1.29% in one hour to $85,894 at 11:36 a.m. ET (15:36 UTC) Oct. 2, while liquidations on three exchanges were concentrated in bullish positions.

The price had been $87,020 one hour earlier. Despite the drop, Bitcoin remained up 1.98% over the previous 24 hours.

Liquidations over the same hour totaled $9.72 million in long positions and $970,000 in short positions across Binance, Bybit and OKX. Long positions are trades that benefit when prices rise; liquidations occur when traders’ positions are forcibly closed.
