Two rare CryptoPunks sold for at least 3.875 million USDC on Oct. 1, with both transactions using a feature that lets borrowers sell NFTs held as loan collateral and repay their debt in the same transaction.

Punk #8348, the collection’s only token with seven attributes, sold for 3 million USDC plus an undisclosed amount. The transaction was the largest sale on GONDI, the NFT lending platform that handled both deals.

Punk #3609, one of 88 Zombie Punks, sold for 875,000 USDC, worth about 326 Ether (ETH) at the time. The two sales took place within roughly 12 hours of each other. Both tokens moved as wrapped CryptoPunks 721 tokens, and buyers paid in USDC rather than ETH.

Neither transaction set a collection record. Alien #5822 sold for 8,000 ETH in 2022. Punk #3609 also changed hands for less than the 440 ETH it fetched in May 2025.

CryptoPunks launched in 2017, before the ERC-721 NFT standard existed. The collection initially traded through a built-in marketplace priced in ETH. Lending, brokering and buying services now operate around the collection, adding ways for holders to use or transfer their tokens.

GONDI’s Sell & Repay feature allows a borrower to sell an NFT pledged for a loan and settle the debt as part of that transaction. Both Oct. 1 sales used the feature, connecting the high-value trades to NFT lending activity as well as collectible demand.

In late September, CryptoPunks also saw a reported sweep of about 63 tokens for roughly $6 million around Sept. 23. The floor price rose from about 29 ETH to 34 ETH over roughly two days. It later stood near 33 ETH, or about $89,000, up about 31% from Jan. 1 but still roughly 39% below its late-July 2025 peak of about 54 ETH.

Ether was near $2,690, about 46% below its record high, as Punk activity increased. Whether the late-September sales pace continues remains to be seen.
