Morgan Stanley Trust Held $299 Million in Bitcoin on June 30
An Oct. 5 wallet estimate valued its Bitcoin balance at $903.86 million, about $96 million below $1 billion. The newer figure has not been confirmed in a regulatory filing.

Morgan Stanley’s Bitcoin fund had $299 million in Bitcoin on June 30, while a later wallet estimate placed its balance at 10,519 BTC, a difference that underscores the gap between the filing snapshot and newer figures.
The Oct. 5 wallet estimate valued the Bitcoin at about $903.86 million, roughly $96 million short of $1 billion. The balance was 83 BTC above the 10,436 BTC figure in earlier coverage of MSBT’s holdings. The two snapshots do not establish a continuous growth trend, and the dollar value changes with Bitcoin’s market price. The newer estimate has not been confirmed in a regulatory filing.
Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust, which trades as MSBT on NYSE Arca, began operating April 7, and its shares started trading April 8. It is Morgan Stanley Investment Management’s first crypto exchange-traded product and seeks to track Bitcoin’s performance after expenses and liabilities.
The trust charges a 0.14% sponsor fee and lists Coinbase Custody Trust Company and BNY as custodians for its Bitcoin. Its June 30 filing reported 5,059.30771216 BTC valued at $299,012,624.
