Nvidia Sets Record Close as U.S. Stocks and Crypto Shares Rise

The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.05%, while Coinbase and Circle each advanced more than 2%.

Nvidia climbed 2.1% to a record closing high as U.S. stocks advanced, while Coinbase and Circle each gained more than 2% amid strength in crypto, oil and gas, and pharmaceutical retail shares.

The Nasdaq Composite rose 1.05% to 27,477.31. The S&P 500 gained 0.67% to 7,773.99, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.18% to 51,268.26.

Nvidia’s record close lifted its market value to $5.76 trillion. Tesla rose 2.2%, Microsoft added 1.48% and Meta gained 1.9%.

Among other advancing stocks, Schlumberger rose more than 3%, Moderna gained nearly 7% and Vaxcyte finished up 30%. Novavax rose more than 20%.

The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon Index gained 1.68%. JDZG rose 6.40%.
