On Oct. 5, at least 50 tankers with Iranian oil cargoes were near the country's coast. A preliminary estimate recorded no new crude loadings in September.

The count includes vessels carrying crude, other petroleum products and liquefied petroleum gas. Eleven laden tankers were anchored east of Kharg Island, a key export terminal, and five more were farther south. No tankers were observed loading at Kharg on Oct. 5.

The September estimate covers crude newly loaded onto tankers, not every Iranian oil delivery. Some Chinese buyers continued receiving oil from floating storage near Singapore.

The preliminary estimate put Iranian crude loadings at about 250,000 barrels per day in August before recording none in September. The figures describe new seaborne loading activity, while floating-storage deliveries continued.
