Bitcoin (BTC) traded above $86,000 early Tuesday as traders watched the $84,000 level and awaited minutes from the Federal Reserve’s Sept. 15-16 meeting, scheduled for release Wednesday.

BTC was down 0.2% over 24 hours after briefly touching $85,200 before European trading opened. On Monday, it moved above $87,000 before selling emerged for the third time since Sept. 23.

A drop below $84,000 would put pressure on Bitcoin’s recent pattern of higher lows. A move below a recent low near $83,000 would reinforce the shift and bring $80,000 into view. These are conditional technical levels; Bitcoin was still above $84,000 in the Tuesday morning snapshot.

The Federal Reserve minutes are due Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. ET (18:00 UTC.

TokenPost previously covered Bitcoin’s brief dip below $84,000 and long liquidations.
