Bitcoin Liquidations Hit $15 Million in One Hour, Mostly Longs

Long positions accounted for $14.99 million of the total across Binance, Bybit and OKX. Bitcoin’s price fell 0.83% during the same hour.

Bitcoin (BTC) saw $15 million in liquidations across Binance, Bybit and OKX in the hour ending at 9:57 p.m. ET on Oct. 6 (01:57 UTC on Oct. 7), with long positions making up nearly all of the total.

Long liquidations reached $14.99 million, while short liquidations totaled $0. The figures are TokenPost’s aggregation of public liquidation data from the three exchanges, not a market-wide total.

Bitcoin fell from $85,520 to $84,809 over the same hour, a 0.83% decline. Liquidations occur when exchanges forcibly close leveraged positions that can no longer meet margin requirements.
