Crypto Selloff Triggers Nearly $400 Million in Long Liquidations
Long liquidations accounted for $398 million of roughly $410 million in forced closures over one hour as Bitcoin fell below $84,000.

A sharp crypto-market selloff wiped out nearly $400 million in bullish leveraged positions within one hour, with long liquidations accounting for most of the forced closures as Bitcoin fell below $84,000.
Bitcoin traded at $83,804.60, down 2.13% over 24 hours. Total liquidations reached roughly $410 million during the hour, including $398 million from long positions.
The largest single loss was a $26.64 million Ether long position. A separate $11.74 million Bitcoin long position was also liquidated, with both closures occurring on Binance.
The figures highlight the speed at which leveraged trades can be closed during a sharp market move. Long positions generally profit when prices rise, but exchanges can liquidate them when falling prices leave traders unable to meet margin requirements.
