Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $84,000 in a sharp intraday move, triggering more than $400 million in liquidations of leveraged long positions across crypto markets.

Bitcoin dropped $1,600 in about 15 minutes and was trading near $84,195, down 2.1% over 24 hours. The move added pressure across major cryptocurrencies as traders holding bullish leveraged positions were forced out.

Ether (ETH) fell 3.5% to $2,613.53, while XRP declined 2.7% to $1.47. BNB lost 2.3% and Solana fell 1.9% over the same period.

The liquidation wave shows how quickly a price decline can spread through derivatives markets: Falling prices force leveraged long positions to close, adding further selling pressure to the market.
