Bitcoin Drop Below $84K Sends MNT, DOT and UNI Sharply Lower

MNT fell 10%, while DOT and UNI dropped 9% and 8.5%, respectively, as Bitcoin’s decline pressured the broader crypto market.

Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $84,000 after a rapid decline, driving steeper losses among major altcoins and pushing MNT, DOT and UNI among the market’s weakest performers.

BTC dropped more than $2,000 in minutes to $83,600. Its rebound stalled near $84,400, leaving the asset struggling around the $84,000 level. Bitcoin’s market capitalization fell to $1.680 trillion, while its share of the broader market stood at 59%.

MNT declined 10%, while DOT dropped 9% and UNI fell 8.5%. Other notable losses included ADA at 6.5%, CRO at 5.5% and SHIB at 6%.

Ether (ETH) also fell more than 4% at one point, slipping below $2,600. XRP dropped 3% to $1.46, while BNB, SOL, TRX and ZEC also moved lower.

The total crypto market capitalization shed more than $60 billion over 24 hours to reach $2.850 trillion, underscoring the broad impact of Bitcoin’s sudden retreat.
