Arbitrum (ARB) Falls Toward $0.19 as $0.18 Support Comes Into Focus

Arbitrum (ARB) traded near $0.19 Wednesday as conflicting market readings showed the token weakening toward a technical support level at $0.18.

ARB was priced near $0.19 at 5:38 a.m. ET (09:38 UTC) Oct. 7 after falling 7.62% over 24 hours in one market snapshot. A separate spot-market reading placed ARB at $0.1883, with a 7.62% decline over 12 hours and an 8.93% decline over 24 hours.

Another snapshot showed a Binance futures mark price of $0.1906 and a 9.01% 24-hour decline. Binance spot trading recorded ARB at $0.1884, with $109.4 million in 24-hour turnover, while the futures market showed $104.17 million in 24-hour volume and $55.56 million in open interest.

The different readings reflect variations in venue, contract and measurement period. Funding rates for perpetual futures were negative across the available snapshots, ranging from -0.0039% to -0.0163%. A negative rate means traders holding short positions pay those holding long positions.

Technical levels placed $0.18 as the main support area, with $0.20 as initial resistance and $0.21 as the next resistance level. A daily close below $0.18 would put $0.16 among the levels being monitored, while a hold above $0.18 could support a recovery toward $0.20 to $0.22.

The move follows earlier declines, including a drop to $0.1858 in Binance spot trading earlier Wednesday.

Arbitrum is an Ethereum layer-2 network, and ARB is its governance token. Arbitrum launched USDG on Oct. 6, with Fluid, Morpho, GMX, Maple, Uniswap and Kraken among its first integrations. About $4 billion of stablecoins were held on Arbitrum.
