Global Gold ETFs Draw Record $31 Billion in Third-Quarter Inflows
September accounted for $10 billion of the total as holdings reached a record 4,256 metric tons despite lower gold prices.

Global gold exchange-traded funds attracted a record $31 billion during the third quarter, led by demand in the United States and Europe even as gold prices declined and fund assets fell.
September accounted for $10 billion of the quarterly total. Funds listed in North America and Europe represented most of the inflows, with the United States leading country-level demand.
Gold holdings increased by 67 metric tons to a record 4,256 tons. Total assets under management, however, dropped 7% from the previous quarter to $574 billion as lower prices reduced the value of the holdings.
U.K.-listed funds posted their strongest quarter on record, helping Europe reach a regional quarterly milestone. The figures mark a quarter in which fund inflows and physical gold holdings rose while the overall value of assets under management declined.
