Optical Communications, Neocloud Stocks Slide At U.S. Open

Astera Labs fell 6.46%, while Applied Optoelectronics and Coherent also posted sharp declines Wednesday.

Optical communications and neocloud stocks fell sharply at the U.S. market open Wednesday, with Astera Labs dropping 6.46% as several technology shares moved lower together.

Applied Optoelectronics declined 5.77%, while Coherent fell 4.98%. Nokia dropped 4.06%, and Credo slipped 3.97%.

The neocloud group also traded lower. Hut 8 fell 4.99%, Galaxy Digital declined 4.94%, Nebius dropped 4.64%, TeraWulf lost 4.48% and Applied Digital fell 4.34%. CoreWeave declined 2.88%.

Broader semiconductor and storage stocks also weakened. Lam Research fell 2.99%, Arm declined 2.63%, Marvell Technology dropped 1.99% and AMD lost 1.16%. SK hynix fell 2.60%, Western Digital declined 2.32%, Micron Technology dropped 2.04% and Seagate Technology slipped 1.46%.
