NEAR closed at $5.3674 on Oct. 7, with a high of $5.4423 and a low of $4.8865. Bitwise highlighted Intents activity and potential AI-agent demand.

NEAR rose 5.94% to close at $5.3674 on Oct. 7, while Bitwise published an analysis of the token’s existing transaction activity and potential role in infrastructure for AI-agent commerce.
NEAR traded between $4.8865 and $5.4423 during the session, with an opening price of $5.0659. Bitwise published its analysis on Oct. 7, the same day NEAR posted the daily gain.
The analysis described NEAR as a smaller-cap crypto asset with an on-chain execution business and longer-term potential tied to transactions conducted by autonomous software agents.
“NEAR is a two-part story: a rapidly growing onchain execution layer, with the infrastructure for the emerging agentic economy built on top of it,” Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan, Ryan Rasmussen and Camran Khosravi wrote.
NEAR Intents had processed more than $30 billion across more than 35 blockchains as of the publication. The system allows users or applications to specify a desired transaction outcome while external solvers compete to complete swaps, bridges and other transactions.
NEAR activated a fee switch in February 2026 that directs the network’s share of Intents fees toward open-market buybacks. Annual inflation was reduced from 5% to 2.5% the prior year.
NEAR’s revenue dashboard, updated Oct. 8, displayed $53.44 million in total fees generated and $14.81 million in cumulative protocol burn.
The fund began trading Sept. 29 under the ticker NRR on NYSE Arca, giving U.S. investors a listed product tied to NEAR. TokenPost previously covered the fund’s start of trading.
