Whale Opens $21.9 Million in Shorts Across PUMP, SOL and XRP

A whale opened short positions worth about $21.87 million across PUMP, Solana (SOL) and XRP on Oct. 8 after closing a 1 billion-token PUMP long at a realized loss of roughly $265,500.
The trader then opened a short position covering 1.5 billion PUMP tokens. The position carried 5x leverage, an average entry price of $0.00602 and a value of about $9.02 million. It had an unrealized gain of approximately $16,300.
The SOL short covered 75,000 tokens and was valued at about $8.64 million. It used 20x leverage and had an average entry price of $115.07. The position showed an unrealized loss of about $10,700.
The XRP short covered 3 million tokens and was valued at roughly $4.21 million. It also used 20x leverage, with an average entry price of $1.397 and an unrealized loss of about $18,600.
Together, the three short positions had an unrealized loss of approximately $12,900.
The whale also sold 11,000 HYPE tokens for a realized profit of about $140,700. The account retained 189,000 HYPE tokens and 4.9 million LIT tokens, with combined long positions valued at about $33.97 million and unrealized gains of roughly $6.92 million.
Long exposure therefore remained larger than the short book. Total account equity stood at about $7.76 million, while combined long and short exposure reached approximately $55.83 million, representing overall leverage of about 7.2 times.
