NEAR Rises 6% Near $5.50 as It Briefly Tops Stellar in Live Data

NEAR Protocol (NEAR) rose about 6% to near $5.50 on Oct. 8, briefly ranking ahead of Stellar by market capitalization in one live reading while 24-hour trading volume reached about $1.18 billion.
An Oct. 8 market reading showed NEAR at $5.38, up 6.1% over 24 hours, with a market capitalization of about $7.04 billion. Stellar (XLM) traded near $0.198, with a market capitalization of roughly $6.94 billion and trading volume of about $170.4 million.
The market-cap ranking remained close and varied by measurement time. An Oct. 8 historical snapshot placed NEAR at $6.98 billion and Stellar at $7.02 billion, leaving Stellar slightly ahead in that reading.
NEAR’s move extended a sharp recovery from a Sept. 19 closing price of $3.59 to $5.33 on Oct. 7. The token’s latest gain came as activity connected to NEAR Intents continued to expand.
NEAR Intents is a cross-chain execution protocol that supports cross-chain swaps, unified liquidity and confidential execution. It has processed more than $33 billion in cumulative volume across 35 chains.
The Bitwise NEAR ETF, ticker NRR, launched in the United States as a spot NEAR exchange-traded product. Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan said, “NEAR sits at the intersection of two of the biggest trends in technology: AI and crypto.”
