BlackRock’s IBIT Holds 62% of Bitcoin Held by Spot ETFs
U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs held about 1.293 million BTC in an Oct. 8 snapshot valued near $107 billion at a Bitcoin price of $82,606.

U.S. spot Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded funds held about 1.293 million BTC in an Oct. 8 snapshot, with BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF accounting for roughly 62.30% of the Bitcoin held by the group.
The milestone came as the funds reached 1,000 calendar days after trading began. The 1,000th calendar day after the Jan. 11, 2024, launch fell on Oct. 7, 2026.
The combined holdings were valued at about $107 billion using a Bitcoin price of $82,606. BlackRock’s IBIT held 806,037.6 BTC, equal to about 3.84% of Bitcoin’s 21 million maximum supply and nearly two-thirds of the Bitcoin held by the ETFs.
Other reported positions included 181,890.6 BTC for Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, or FBTC; 126,585.8 BTC for Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF, or GBTC; 63,258.2 BTC for Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF; and 10,639.4 BTC for Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust ETP, or MSBT.
IBIT’s holdings were higher than the 734,261 BTC listed for June 30, 2026. The difference shows how fund balances can change between formal reporting dates and later holdings snapshots.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved the listing and trading of several spot Bitcoin exchange-traded products on Jan. 10, 2024. Trading began the following day, giving U.S. investors exchange-traded access to funds that hold Bitcoin directly.
