Starknet’s STRK token rose 18.1% over 24 hours to break above $0.06 on Thursday, extending a move tied to recent network developments and security discussions.

StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson said Starknet is considering several options to prepare for threats from quantum computing and artificial intelligence. One option would shift Starknet to a layer-1 blockchain, allowing the network to manage its security migration independently.

The network also launched version 0.14.4 on its mainnet Oct. 5. The upgrade increased the capacity of a single proof to about 1.1 billion layer-2 gas, a change intended to support larger batches of network activity.

Earlier this month, Starknet introduced incentives for the first 100 users bridging Bitcoin through strkBTC, including coverage of bridge fees and weekly faucet distributions. The recent network changes and incentive program provide context for STRK’s latest price move.
