Crypto Liquidations Hit $684 Million in 12 Hours, Mostly Longs
Long positions accounted for $639 million of the total as Bitcoin fell below $82,000. The 24-hour liquidation total reached $769 million.

Crypto-market liquidations reached $684 million over 12 hours as Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $82,000, with long positions bearing most of the losses.
Long-position liquidations totaled $639 million, while short positions accounted for $45 million. The imbalance shows that traders positioned for rising prices absorbed the bulk of forced closures during the decline.
Over the past 24 hours, about 140,043 traders were liquidated, bringing the total value of forced closures to $769 million. The largest single liquidation was a $11.8234 million BTCUSDT position on Binance.
Liquidations occur when exchanges automatically close leveraged positions after market moves leave traders unable to meet margin requirements. The figures indicate that the latest Bitcoin drop pressured bullish leveraged trades across the broader crypto market.
