Ether (ETH) fell below $2,500 around 11:18 a.m. ET (15:18 UTC) Thursday as 24-hour crypto liquidations reached $759 million, adding pressure across major digital assets.

Ether was trading at $2,467.88 after the move. Long positions accounted for $692 million of the liquidation total, indicating that most forced closures affected traders positioned for prices to rise.

Bitcoin (BTC) also declined 2.14% to $81,333.50 during the period. Solana (SOL) fell 6.46% to $108.90, extending losses across large-cap cryptocurrencies.

Ethereum is the blockchain network that supports Ether and decentralized applications. The liquidation surge and declines in major tokens underscored the market stress surrounding Thursday’s move.
