XRP’s 63.093 Billion Circulating Tokens Do Not Equal Sellable Supply
Exchange wallets held 21.97 billion XRP across 699 tracked wallets, but custody balances do not show how many tokens are available through live orders or over-the-counter markets.

XRP’s circulating supply was listed at 63.093 billion tokens on Oct. 8, 2026, but that figure does not show how much XRP buyers could purchase immediately at a chosen price.
On-chain tracking identified 21.97 billion XRP across 699 publicly attributed wallets linked to 24 exchanges. The total is a tracked-wallet measure that can include customer custody balances, reserves and cold storage. It may exclude unattributed wallets and other holdings, and it does not represent active sell orders.
The difference matters because circulating supply measures ownership categories, while executable liquidity measures orders available for purchase. A usable estimate would need a defined price limit, time window and coverage of exchange order books and over-the-counter markets.
Other XRP supply figures use separate definitions. Ledger-based categories listed 31.40 billion XRP in Ripple escrow and 68.59 billion XRP outside escrow on Oct. 8. As of June 30, Ripple held 37,656,053,914 XRP, had distributed 62,329,587,596 XRP and had 32.6 billion XRP in escrow.
Those figures cannot be added or subtracted to create a single market-float number. They cover different categories and dates, and some wallet balances may overlap. The 68.59 billion XRP outside escrow figure also is not interchangeable with the 63.093 billion circulating-supply figure.
The same distinction applies to exchange-traded products. The Bitwise XRP ETF allows authorized participants to redeem baskets by receiving XRP or by having the fund sell XRP and distribute cash. Retail shareholders cannot redeem their shares directly with the fund.
For market analysis, the relevant question is therefore narrower than the size of XRP’s total supply: how many sell orders are available within a specified price range and timeframe. That amount can change continuously as orders are added, canceled or filled.
